The Black Beach Fire near Holter Lake has burned about 100 acres.
At 7 pm, the MT Department of Natural Resources & Conservation (DNRC) says they have stopped the forward movement of the fire.
Fire officials are still concerned about what the challenging weather may bring later tonight as the current wind is causing spot fires by embers.
No structures are being threatened at this time as the fire is a estimated at 100 plus acres.
Four helicopters, an air tanker, the U.S. Forest Service, and DNRC members are fighting the fire, along with multiple rural fire districts.
At least one family has been evacuated, and others are being asked to leave voluntarily.
Fire crews are staging at the Log Gulch Campground and have a boat to help with evacuations if need be.
The Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's department is assisting with evacuations.
