MISSOULA - In the eighth day of the rape trial, Jordan Johnson's roommate and Griz teammate Alex Bienemann took the stand for the prosecution late Friday afternoon to testify.
Prosecutors pointed out how Bienemann changed a statement he gave them after talking to the defense.
They said at first he told them Johnson talked with the woman's roommates, before and after the alleged rape.
Bienemann later said when he gets nervous he fills in facts and did it in this case to put the story together for his own understanding.
He also testified that he knows Johnson well enough to know when something is wrong.
Defense attorney Kirsten Pabst questioned Bienemann about what happened when Johnson came home after the alleged rape.
"When he came home that night from her house, you had testified that he was totally normal," Past said.
Pabst: "And that you didn't think he would have looked so normal had he done something like what he's been accused of."
Bienemann: "Definitely not."
This morning the defense called two out-of-town witnesses in the middle of the prosecution's case.
Prosecutors continued calling their witnesses after that and are expected to call more on Monday.
