Attendance for the Gallatin County Fair is expected to be about 10 percent higher than last year.

Sponsorship manager for the Gallatin County Fairgrounds, Jamie Cargill, says that the fairgrounds is expecting 50,000-55,000 attendees to walk through the gates over the five-day event. Cargill adds that despite current economy, this community event is one that is fun and doesn't empty out your wallet.

"I think one thing about the Gallatin County Fair is that we try to make it affordable for everyone. So it's a little more realistic for families to come in and so we try to keep in mind peoples' pocketbooks when we're planning the fair," says Cargill.

The fair takes place at the fairgrounds starting tomorrow and lasts through Sunday evening. Cost of admission is $5, along with $2 to park, but you can get a four-day pass from the fairgrounds at a discounted rate. There are numerous events going on at the fair, including a carnival, live entertainment and much more. You can read the full schedule of events by clicking here.

For the third year members of the Gallatin Equestrian Program, also known as GALLEP, will walk horses down to the fair grounds in an effort to help kick off the festivities. They should arrive at the fairgrounds around noon tomorrow.
