In 30 days, you'll be able to drive a little bit faster on three county roads.
County Commissioners approved speed ordinances today for Baxter Lane East, Durston Road, and Flanders Mill Road.
Baxter Lane from the Bozeman City limits to Jackrabbit will change from 40 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour, Durston Road from the Bozeman City limits to Love Lane will change from 35 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour, and Flanders Mill Road between Durston Road and Baxter Lane, which does not currently have any postage, will be 40 miles per hour.
Commissioner Steve White says the changes are an outcome of a formal speed study conducted by the Road Department. Durston and Baxter, which used to both be gravel, are now paved so the road study took another look to determine what the appropriate speeds should be.
Again, the new speed limits will take effect in 30 days.
