After around 18 budget-related meetings, Gallatin County Commissioners adopted a final 2011 budget of approximately $118 million on Tuesday, down from the approximately $131 million budget last year.
County Commissioners voted not to use the inflationary mill levy allowed by state statute to raise taxes. However, taxes will still increase because of bond requirements voted on by the public which includes a detention center and open land bonds.
County Finance Director Ed Blackman says taxes will increase about $22 a year for a $250,000 home.
