GREAT FALLS - Five men have been charged with sexual abuse of children after an undercover investigation.
The five people are Edward Burk Dupuis, Zachary Beston, Perry Gamache, Albert Stuart Ross and Miguel F. Gardipee.
According to court documents, the men responded to postings on Craigslist and other online ads that were actually created by undercover agents as part of a sting operation that involved officers with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force.
The suspects all responded to what they thought was an 11- or 12-year-old girl but was actually an undercover officer. No children were actually involved in the operation.
The law enforcement effort, called "iGuardian," is part of a nationwide operation targeting child sexual predators and is done in a manner similar to the "To Catch A Predator" TV program.
Court documents state that a sample ad read: "Looking for a man who can teach my 12 year niece to be a woman. Not looking for a pen pal. Contact me if interested."
