The Downtown Bozeman Partnership installed downtown's first on-street bike parking stall today in celebration of Bike to Work Week. The bike stall sits on the corner of Main Street and Bozeman Avenue adjacent to Bangtail Bikes. The rack provides parking for 15 bikes in place of one car. Executive Director Chris Naumann says there has been a dramatic increase in the number of people riding bikes to and from downtown. "We need to provide the type of facilities folks are looking for so we make sure that downtown stays viable and vibrant and folks come downtown whether they're in a car or on a bike or even as pedestrians," Naumann said, adding they hope to install more bike racks like this one in the future. The bike stall will be removed in the winter to facilitate snow plowing.
