Death of man found hanging from Butte bridge ruled suicide

A death of a 21-year-old man who was found hanging from the South Excelsior Street Bridge has been ruled a suicide.

The body of Matt Glanton of Potomic, Montana was found early Tuesday morning in Butte at the bridge, which is the Iron Street overpass.

Witnesses reported seeing a body hanging from the bridge.

Officers responded to the report at 4 a.m., Butte-Silver Bow Police Captain Doug Conway said.  

The man was currently living in Butte, Coroner Lee LaBreche said.

The body of a 21-year-old man was found early Tuesday morning in Butte near the Excelsior Street Bridge. 

Witnesses reported seeing a body hanging from the bridge, which is the Iron Street overpass.

Officers responded to the report at 4 a.m., Butte-Silver Bow Police Captain Doug Conway said. The incident is under investigation, however foul play is not suspected, Conway said. 

The man was currently living in Butte but is from the Missoula area, Coroner Lee LaBreche said. 

The man's identity and cause of death will most likely be released Wednesday.
