HOUSTON, (October 1, 2010) - Where to Retire magazine, has selected Bozeman, MT, to profile as a top retirement town in the November/December issue which mails to subscribers nationwide on October 1, 2010.
According to a magazine press release, Where to Retire editor Mary Lu Abbott said Bozeman possesses many qualities important to today's retirees. "Bozeman is a friendly college town that combines a laid-back atmosphere with spectacular mountain scenery and abundant outdoor activities. Not far from Yellowstone National Park, it's a playground for those who enjoy world-class fishing and skiing, as well as golfing, cycling, rafting, hunting and horseback riding. The cultural side isn't neglected, either, with symphony, opera and theater among the offerings. Additionally, retirees have easy access to everything from medical care to educational facilities," Abbott said.
Each year, 700,000 Americans relocate to new towns to retire. Generally, relocating retirees are healthier, better educated and more affluent than retirees who choose to not relocate; they bring significant economic benefits to their new states and hometowns. Nationally, two dozen states and hundreds of towns seek to attract retirees as a source of economic development.
