On Saturday, August 31st, there will be 350 Ford Mustangs in town for the 34th Annual International Mustang Meet, being held in Bozeman this weekend.
In 1979, a Bozeman man and a Canadian resident joined forces. They decided to connect their love of cars with other people in the North West. That was the beginning of this show.
Every year, the International Mustang Meet is held in either one of the neighboring countries - once in a Canadian city and next in an American city.
This year, the show will be hosted in Bozeman with almost 500 people coming into town with 350 Mustangs.
The car show is scheduled for Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Bozeman Ford. It will be followed by a BBQ that night and a Banquet at the SUB Ballroom on Sunday night.
Apart from celebrating the fun-filled union of people across borders, the show also nominates a charity within the community they visit, each year. The local Bridger Mountain Pony Car Club has chosen the Cancer Support Community as their charity for this year.
Lyle Cigler, president of this club is also the son of the man who started the show.
