Two new wildfires to report in SW Montana Thursday evening. The first fire is called the Indian Creek Fire NE of Sheridan in Madison county burning in the Tobacco Root Mountains. The fire is burning between Wisconsin and Mill creek and is between 75 to 100 acres.
Two forest service engines and two state engines have been sent to the fire. Beaverhead-Deer Lodge National Forest officials say Madison County resources have also been dispatched to the fire. BLM and DNRC are involved with one engine on the scene and three more en route.
Officials have ordered a type two incident management team to the fire. Forest service officials say the fire was started by lightning.
Another fire start due to lightning to report, this one in the Moose Creek area NE of Melrose in the Highland Mountains.
Two wildfire engines have been dispatched to the blaze. No word on the size of the fire, since resources are just arriving on scene this evening.
